The main objective of the NEUROVIAS project is an innovative solution that performs, on the one hand, the monitoring, assessment and prediction of the pavement condition of interurban highways and, on the other hand, optimisation of the maintenance management plan based on sustainable criteria. The NEUROVIAS tool will be capable of automatically monitoring and diagnosing the pavement damages through the capture and processing of 3D images by means of artificial intelligences techniques. Based on this diagnosis, it will predict the condition of the network in successive years with the aim of proposing more economical preventive treatments which, in turn, prevent reaching this accelerated degradation phase of the pavement that places at risk the

safety of users. From the results of the assessment of the condition and prediction of the deterioration, it will perform a multi-objective optimisation and decision-making that enables prioritising the actions in the short, medium and long-term that minimise the economic, environmental and social impact, whilst maximising the safety and comfort of network users. As a result, an efficient and sustainable plan will be obtained of pavement maintenance and renovation activities throughout the interurban road network.

Project financed by the Valencian Innovation Agency (AVI) through the Strategic Projects in Cooperation Program for 2021-2023 (INNEST/2021/14) and co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) with the aim of promoting technological development, innovation and high-quality research.
